The Porsche 997.2 GT2 RS (2010–2011) is the most powerful and most extreme 997: a rear-wheel-drive, twin-turbocharged, stripped-out missile. 620 hp from the Mezger-derived 3.6-litre twin-turbo, six-speed manual only, 500 units worldwide. At launch it was Porsche’s most powerful road car and briefly the fastest production car around the Nürburgring.

Highlights
GT1/Le-Mans-derived Mezger twin-turbo engine, roughly 70 kg lighter than the already-focused GT2 via carbon-fibre fenders and trunk lid, no AWD (RWD only, unlike the Turbo), GT3 RS suspension and brakes, a bi-plane rear wing and serialized limited production. The last RWD turbo 911 before the AWD-only 991 Turbo era.
Common Issues
Robust Mezger turbo core. At this level it is all about provenance: serial number, documented history, no accident or track damage, original carbon aero and no over-revs. Enormous rear-wheel-drive power demands respect; check carefully for past incident repairs.
Market Analysis (as of 2025)

- Exceptional / low mileage: CHF 600,000–750,000+
Blue-chip collector status, rarer than a Carrera GT or 918.
